The annual North Midlands Police Charity Golf Day and Auction took place at Three Springs GC in July – raising a record total of $33,566 in the process.

Three Springs Police have staged the event at the club since 1998 (excepting 2020, which was cancelled due to COVID), with monies raised being donated to the North Midlands Sub-Centre of St John’s Ambulance.

In that time, the event has raised more than $160,000 for SJA with funds being used for a variety of purposes, including the creation of a transfer shed and portable toilet at Three Springs Air Strip for the RFDS; placement of defibrillators in multiple locations; first aid manikins; medication bags; and stair-climbing wheelchairs.

In addition, since August 2019, funding has allowed more than 900 community members from all over the North Midlands to receive fully subsidised first aid training.

As well as raising record funds, there was a record turnout for this year’s golf day, which attracted more than 100 players to compete in the four-person Ambrose team event with blue skies and sunshine providing a welcome boost to participants.

“We would like to acknowledge Three Springs Golf Club for their continued support in making this event as successful as it is,” said Hannah Denny, Customer Service Officer for Three Springs Police and North Midlands Police Charity Golf Day Coordinator.

“To our generous sponsors, and to all who donated auction items, raffle prizes and cash donations, we can’t thank you enough. We look forward to the successful 25th staging of this event in 2024.”
