Nine qualify for Australian Amateur Matchplay

Defending Australian Amateur Champion, Minjee Lee is the highest seeded of the nine Western Australian’s to qualify for the matchpay rounds of the Australian Amateur, starting tomorrow at the Grange Golf Club.

Lee fired a second round of 69 to shoot up the leaderboard, as Victorian rival Su-Hyun Oh faltered late to fall back to fourth place.

Also through to the matchplay finals is Jayde Panos (7th), Alyssia Keir (9th), Hannah Green (15), Tatiana Wijaya (20) and Hira Naveed (27).

Curtis Luck is the highest seeded of the Western Australians the Men’s Matchplay, taking the 12th seed despite finishing in a tie with six other golfers at 3-under par. Luck backed up his impressive opening round of 71 with a 2-under round of 70 to continue his hot streak of form from his Victorian Junior Masters Victory.

Also through to the Men’s Matchplay is Jarryd Felton (30) and Michael Montgomery (50).
