Mount Lawley and Royal Freo march on in GolfWA Junior Pennants

Mount Lawley’s girls and Royal Fremantle’s boys have extended their unbeaten runs in their respective top divisions after Round 3 of the GolfWA Junior Pennants.

The Mount Lawley 1 team of Erina Tan, Amanda Gan, Isabella Leniartek, Valerie Khuu and Ruby Cotton claimed a 4-1 win over Joondalup in a series of close encounters at The Vines. Sitting top of the division with a 100% record, Mount Lawley will play Royal Perth 1 for a place in the final next Sunday.

In the other girls’ Division 1 match, Gosnells 1 overcame Royal Perth 1 4-1 to set up a semi-final against Joondalup. The matches will take place at Lake Karrinyup on Sunday, 19 February.

In the boys’ top flight, Royal Fremantle 1’s team of Rocco Cucchiara, Ollie Marsh, Mandeep Singh, Kloden Brown and Tyler Chi ran out 3-2 winners over Mount Lawley 1 at Royal Perth. With three wins out of three, the Fremantle team sits two points clear at the top of Div 1, with Gosnells 1 in second place.

The only other unbeaten run across all 7 divisions belongs to Mandurah in girls’ Division 3. Their quartet of Alexandria Page, Isabella Day, Abbey Burnham and Ella Tuckey recorded a 3.5-0.5 victory over Gosnells 3 to continue their hot streak. They will now take on Royal Perth 2 in next weekend’s semi-final at Lake Karrinyup, with Gosnells 3 and South West facing off in the second semi.
